English: Confucius said:"For the gentleman, there are three abstentions. In his youth, he should abstain from feminine beauty. In his prime,he should abstain from being belligerent. In old age, he should abstain from acquisitiveness."

Modern: 孔子说：“君子有三件事要警戒自己：年轻时，血气未定，便要警戒，不可接近美色；壮年时，血气旺盛，便要警戒，不可好斗。年老时血气衰弱，便要警戒，不可贪得无厌。”

Original: 孔子曰：“君子有三戒：少之时，血气未定，戒之在色；及其壮也，血气方刚，戒之在斗；及其老也，血气既衰，戒之在得。”
