Verse 6 of Analects of Confucius Chapter 5
English: Confucius said:"If my doctrines make no headway with politicians, I will get upon a raft and float about on the sea. The one who will follow me, would no doubt be Zi Lu?" On hearing this, Zi Lu was very pleased. Confucius continued:"Zi Lu is more courageos than me but he lacks judgement."
Modern: 孔子说：“我的主张如果不被当政者实行，我就乘坐着竹木筏子，泛游海外。能够跟从我的，到时只有仲由(一)吧？” 子路听后十分高兴。孔子接着道：“只是仲由武勇好义胜于我，但是却不善于裁度事理。”
Original: 子曰：“道不行，乘桴浮于海。从我者，其由与？”子路闻之喜。子曰：“由也好勇过我，无所取材。”
