English: Zeng Zi said:"Although capable, but still consult those not capable. Although very knowledgeable but still get his questioned answered. Although opinion has been formed but still open to more opinions and view. Although the solution has been formed, but still consult others as though one has not been formed. Such behavior although will incur the wrath of some people, but one should not mind. It was towards this behavior that my friend used to direct his efforts."

Modern: 曾子说：“虽然有才能，但能够虚心向不如自己全面的人咨询某方面的知识；虽然知识渊博，但能够遇到不懂的地方，及时向人请教；形成了自己的见解和意见，还能像没主见那样，诚恳地听取别人意见；对于解决问题已经胸有成竹，但是还能够谦敬征求别人高见，像自己心中无数似的；虽然因此有时受到不明所以的人轻视或顶撞冒犯也不计较。从前我的朋友就是这样做。”
