Verse 22 of Analects of Confucius Chapter 7

English: Confucius said:"My virtue was given by heaven, what can Heng Tui⁽¹⁾ do to me?"

Modern: 孔子说：“上天赋予我如此的德行，桓魋^(一)又能把我怎么样？”

Original: 子曰：“天生德于予，桓魋其如予何！”

Explanation: Heng Tui wanted to kill Confucius, upon hearing the news, his student asked him to leave the place. Confucius made this statement then.

桓魋曾经想要谋害孔子，学生得到消息，告诉孔子，促其尽快避开，可是孔子满不在乎，而发此感叹。
