English: Confucius said of Zi Jian⁽¹⁾:"This man is indeed a gentleman. If someone said the State of Lu ⁽²⁾ has on gentleman, his existence proves otherwise."

Modern: 孔子谈到子贱^(一)，道：“子贱真是一个君子啊！如果有人说鲁国没有君子，哪里又能找到这样的君子呢？”

Original: 子谓子贱，“君子哉若人！鲁无君子者，斯焉取斯？”
