Verse 10 of Analects of Confucius Chapter 14
English: Someone asked about Zi Chan{{fn|(1)}. Confucius said:"He is generous towards people." When asked about Zi Xi{{fn|(2)}, Confucius said:"Him? Him?" When asked about Guan Zhong{{fn|(3)}. Confucius said:"What a man! He confiscated three hundred families of Bo's{{fn|(4)} Pien Yi{{fn|(5)}. Despite being reduced to simple meals because of this, Bo had no complaints during his lifetime."
Modern: 有人问及子产(一)。孔子说：“他是对民有恩惠的人。” 有人问及子西(二)。孔子说：“他吗？他吗？” 有人问及管仲(三)。孔子说：“管仲这个人呀！没收伯氏(四)骈邑(五)三百户；伯氏只得吃粗饭，但他至死也没有怨言。”
Original: 或问子产。子曰：“惠人也。” 问子西。曰：“彼哉！彼哉！” 问管仲。曰：“人也。夺伯氏骈邑三百，饭疏食，没齿无怨言。”
