Verse 1 of Analects of Confucius Chapter 1

English: Confucius said: "To learn and then practise it time and again is a pleasure, is it not? To have friends come from afar to share each other learning is a pleasure, is it not? To be unperturbed when not appreciated by others is gentlemanly, is it not?"

Modern: 孔子曰：“学过的知识能经常温习，不是很快乐吗？有共同研究学问的人从远方来，不是很快乐吗？你的学识不被人知，不为他人所理解，而心中没有半点怨恨和迁怒，不是很有修养的君子吗？”

Original: 子曰：“学而时习之，不亦说乎？有朋自远方来，不亦乐乎？人不知，而不愠，不亦君子乎？”
