Insects, like bees and hornets, makes people afraid of them because of their poisonous sting, thus people do not agitate them unnecessarily. In war, the soldiers are able to fight with valor and spirit because they are equipped with the best weapon and armor. Thus it is important to equip troops with the best weapon and armor. If the armor is not strong enough, it is similar to fighting in a naked body. If the arrow shot cannot hit the enemy, it is similar to not having a bow and arrow. If the arrow hits the target but is not able to pierce through the armor, it is similar to shooting an arrow that does not have an arrowhead. If intelligence before war is not gathered properly, it is similar to blind men preparing for war. If the general is not courageous, it is similar to fighting without a general.

峰类等有毒刺的小虫类，是凭着令人生畏的毒刺来保护自己，使人们不轻易招惹它；战士在战斗中能英勇作战，是由于他们手中有精良武器，身上有坚硬的铠甲。所以，只要有了锋利的武器，坚实的铠甲，那么全体战士都能英勇善战。如果铠甲不坚实，就好比赤身露体同敌人拼杀；如果弓箭不能射中敌人，就好比没有弓箭；虽然射中了目标，但力量不足不能穿进去，就好比弓箭没有箭头；如果在作战之前侦查工作做得马虎粗略，就好比盲人在准备作战；如果将帅不能英勇奋战，就好像没有将帅一般。
